SUNCHIPS CASE STUDY

Tombras Agency approached us to collaborate on the new celestial campaign for SunChips. In honor of the 2024 solar eclipse SunChips created a limited time bag that would only be offered online during the 4 minutes and 27 seconds of the total eclipse. Our job was to deliver a visceral campaign to promote the event.

The Idea

The idea started with a celestial background that the chips would exist in.

APPROACH

There were two approaches to the campaign. One with hands in gold gloves holding the chips and one where the hands floated in space.  

Both options ended in an Astronaut eating the chips. The Astronaunt was a real person, shot in live action. We found a costume online that worked.

FABRICATION

We created and printed a background in a large format that was big enough for us to have lots of space between the bag of chips and background to give it a spacey feel. The bag was hung using fishing line to give it natural movement. The fishing line was then removed in post. 

Rigs and Stills

The stills utilized different styles of prisms as well as the same background on its own set. The background was also printed for the surface and then covered with an acrylic sheet to give it a reflection. The images were retouched to remove any aids and create a clean image.

Atmosphere

We used atmosphere in a can in the images to create an added element of mystique.
