THE ASK

The idea behind this was to bring people onto our set filled with beautiful fresh veggies and fruits, and have them prepare a salad. The ingredients were the same ingredients found in a package of salad power.

APPROACH

The actors were asked a set of questions by our director and compared the salad they prepared to a package of Salad Power. The main difference being preparation, taste, clean up and convenience.

THE SET

The set was created in our studio and we found a paint color that would match the light green color of the Salad Power brand for the background.

CASTING

Our team put out a wide casting call to find the perfect group of people that would be brought on for the live action shoot. The mom and baby was a very important casting decision for the client.

PROPS

Props were selected by our team to compliment the spread of food and the clients color palette.

FOOD STYLING

Our food stylist selected fresh veggies and fruit from local markets to make sure that the produce looked extra crisp and fresh.

CAMERAS

We had two cameras on set to capture the live candid performances of each actor from different angles and focal lengths.

AUDIO

We also captured live audio on set of each actor, for professional sound quality.

STOP MOTION

We wrote an updated treatment to incorporate all the different types of veggies and fruit that are included in each package. We stuck to the exact amount of ingredients used in each package. We used stop motion to animate the ingredients and bring life to the video.

Our animator and food stylist worked together to ensure the produce looked as fresh as possible. We swapped out any wilting produce with similar looking greens as they moved, to hide the switch and maintain a fresh look.

This video remains a constant reference for new clients coming to us, asking for a similar type of animation.

360 ROTATION

Since the client had updated their packaging they wanted us to photograph and create a video of the product spinning 360 degrees. We used a lazy susan and stop motion to create the video, then keyed out the background to create an alpha file.

DISTRIBUTION

The distribution for the campaign was paid and organic social as well as their website.
